October 24, 1918 – Full diary entry:
“Was made Corporal today.
Recommended for furlough.”
This had to feel good for Robert, who I’m sure felt under-appreciated at times during his first six months in training and overseas. He also wrote a letter home today that I will post shortly.
I wonder whether he would have received this promotion had he not been given the job as an orderly for Lieutenant Silverstein.

Where was Robert today? See the timeline.
