August 30, 1918 – Full diary entry:
“On [large blank here – possibly redacted?] Post tonight.
The Post is out in some old trenches where we can listen and observe all that goes on in No Man’s Land.”
This will require even more wild speculation than the last time I tried to pinpoint Robert’s position in the trenches, but what the heck. Going back to the map I used in that post, there are a few very small notations marking three spots out in No Man’s Land. Here’s the original map and a zoomed-in version:


For all I know, these three map locations could be the most convenient latrines. As always, if I get more information on this, I’ll update the post.
