July 12, 1918 – Full diary entry:
“Another maneuver today.
Turned in bed ticks so must be going to leave here soon.
Go on guard tonight.”
You would think Robert would have learned by now. He gets the word, or a rumor, or something tells him they are leaving soon. The last time he burned his bed, he ended up staying two more nights before leaving.
Spoiler alert: this time he isn’t leaving for another 10 days.
