July 5, 1918 – Full diary entry:
“There is much dissatisfaction in the company. They are never satisfied. We may wish we were back here soon.
We do not know when we will go in to the trenches.”
Robert is occasionally hard on his fellow soldiers, but I have to side with him on this one. All things considered, it sounds like they were better off in Saulxures-sur-Moselotte than many of their colleagues. And peeking ahead three weeks or so, I can confidently say he was right about the 140th soon wishing they were back.

Where was Robert today? See the timeline.
