March 18, 1918 – Full diary entry:
“Quaranteened again.
Wrote Nora not to come. Worked in Top(?) Sargts office p.m. V. hoarse.”
I have to ask for help on this one. “Top Sergeant” doesn’t sound right. Here’s the original text; any ideas what this word is? The first letter really doesn’t look like other capital “T’s” that Robert wrote.
(July 3, 2018 – I just figured it out. It says “1st” Sergeant.)
Also, how depressing. I’m sure he was looking forward to seeing Nora, but instead he was sick again. Going back a couple of days to when he was working in the Exchange all afternoon and it was hot and dusty – no wonder he was hoarse.

Where was Robert today? See the timeline.
