August 17, 1918 – Full diary entry:
“Nothing of interest. Wrote to Nora.
Received a nice letter from my cousin Robt. Gartshore.”
Again, far be it from me to offer corrections 100 years later, but I think Robert meant his uncle, not his cousin. Robert Gartshore was the husband of Robert’s Aunt Aggie, whom he has mentioned before.
There was a cousin named Robert Gartshore as well (Robert and Aggie’s son), but he died on Christmas Day 1885 at age 3.
